Pastor David and his wife, Krista, have 5 beautiful children ages 19–8. David has served in ministry for 20 years. His ministry experience ranges from music to youth to church planting to the senior pastorate. In the spring of 2018, he earned a PhD at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has taught Baptist history, preaching, and theology as an adjunct professor.
In his free time, David enjoys running and cycling, cheering on his favorite soccer team, and spending time with his family.
A sharp wit and an incredible knowledge of seemingly everything makes Jim a fun person to be around. His experienced ministry of over 29 years and his daily reliance on God’s provisions, provide a solid foundation for our youth ministry at UBC. Jim and his wife, Kathy, joined the team six years ago. From fishing to camping to ballgames and concerts, Jim is an avid outdoors man. His individual and deep desire to disciple others parallels that of UBC and shines through in everything he does.

Terry was licensed and ordained to the ministry by Allandale Baptist Church, now called Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin. He attended the University of Texas, and received his Bachelors of Music from Hardin-Simmons University in 1981. He studied at Southwestern Theological Seminary and received a MARE degree and Doctorate of Ministry from Logos School of Theology in Jacksonville, Florida.
Terry and his wife Sharon have three children, Jeremy (Mary Lauren), Jeffrey (Hannah), and Jamie (Josh); and four grandchildren, Norah, Katherine, Claire, and Riley. Terry’s passion for worship flows from his love for God and persistence in prayer.
Amy joined the team at UBC in August of 2011. She began as our church receptionist, and now has taken on the position in Family Ministries as of May 2016. Amy’s spiritual gifts of administration, hospitality and helps, and her active participation at UBC through the years make her a perfect fit for the job.
She and her husband, Patrick, have been members since 1987. They have five adult children, and are the proud grandparents of 3. She has served the Lord through worship ministries; preschool, children and youth ministries; chairing committees, and providing help in various other ways as the Lord has led.
Frank has over 36 years of experience in the public and private sectors. This includes service in the military, state legislature, and community. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1982 with a Bachelor Science degree in Construction Science, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps where he served three years on active duty and then joined the Marine Corps Reserve, being mobilized to active duty four separate times, including a tour of Iraq in 2006; and retiring a Colonel with 32 years of service in June 2012. In 1992, he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives where he served 18 years and retired in 2011. He was appointed the Chairman of Defense and Veterans Affairs in 2003 by the Speaker of the Texas House and continued to serve in that capacity until his retirement. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army War College where he received as Masters of Strategic Studies. Frank has been a member of UBC since its beginning in 1977 where he is a Trustee, and Deacon. He also serves as a board member of Any Woman Can, a local pregnancy resource center in San Antonio and the Marine Corps Reserve Association, a national advocacy organization of the Marine Corps and Veterans. He has served over 30 years with the Boy Scouts of America. He and his wife, Valerie, have three adult children, and one grandchild.
Michele just joined the team as Director of the WEE School. She is a Texas Certified Educator and has taught various grades for 15 years ranging from Kindergarten through Fifth grades. She has her Bachelor's Degree and Teacher Certification from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She has a passion for children and loves watching them grow and learn.
Michele is originally from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She and her husband moved to San Antonio seven years ago. They have 3 children ages 19, 18, 16 and a 4 year old Boston Terrior named Jax!
Stormie assists our Church Administrator with all financial matters, and supports our Worship Pastor. She is blessed with seven beautiful grandchildren, and worships at Congregation Beth Simcha, a Messianic Synagogue.
The desire of Stormie’s heart is the fellowship of God’s presence.

Heather joined the team at UBC in 2019. She works in the office as the Receptionist and Graphic Support. She received her BA in Graphic Communications from UMUC. She just moved to San Antonio from just outside of Annapolis, MD, with her husband and 2 children in 2017. Heather is also an artist. She specializes in portrait sketches and murals. She enjoys bringing her artistic touch to all that she does for the church.
Maria joined UBC in 2000 where she met her husband Raul Herrera and married him in 2006 creating a blended family of three children and three grandchildren. She has 38 years of public service with the City of San Antonio in Human Services and Health Services where she retired in March of 2020. Maria has a bachelor’s degree in Health Administration with minor in Health Care Information Systems from the University Phoenix and has Public Health certificate from Texas A&M. She enjoys yard work, home repairs and improvements, mechanics, sewing, hiking, camping, computer database work, website management, and graphics.
She started part-time work at UBC on March 2020 in the capacity of administrative support. Maria loves serving in church committees and especially babysitting in Kids Care. The Lord has led her along with the women and men of UBC to start the Open Hands program assisting and ministering to individuals experiencing homelessness in the community. Proverbs 31:20 20 “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.”
