Men’s Ministry Activities

  • October 22, 2021: Getting On-Target

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping your word. I have sought you with all my heart; don’t let me wander from your commands. I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you. Psalms 119:9–11

We’re heading to the shooting range to sight-in rifles, plink, and shoot clays. Bring what you have, and let’s get on target. Afterwards, we will be heading to the Little Red Barn for steaks.

  • November 2021: Any Woman Can

For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

    Psalms 139:13

We will be visiting Any Woman Can and learning about the crisis pregnancy center with whom University Baptist Church partners. Specific attention will be to considering avenues for our men to serve.

  • February 2022: Men’s Breakfast

These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Back by popular demand, we’ll get together and enjoy a hearty breakfast of eggs and bacon and all of the fixin’s. Afterwards, we’ll hear how we as husbands and fathers can lead our families at the dinner table.

  • April 2022: Tying Knots

And if somebody overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

We’ll learn some old-school knot-tying skills, we’ll pray for one another, and build those relationships with other men who can help us stand strong in difficult days.

  • May 2022: Fishing Trip

“I’m going fishing,” Simon Peter said to them. “We’re coming with you,” they told him. John 21:3a

Sometimes, you just need to get away. We’re heading to the coast and seeing what’s biting. This is a great time to get to know some of the other men in the church, as well as a great event to invite non-churched friends to.

Don’t fish? No problem. We’ll need help eating them after.
